SINGER-SONGWRITER
April Sutherland is an 18 year old singer-songwriter whose music is rooted in blending pop, folk, and indie genres. Growing up in New York City, she now resides within the hills of The Berkshires, MA.
Her professional artistic journey began at the age of nine, singing as a member of the Metropolitan Opera children's chorus in La Boheme, where she found her love for performing. From there, her versatility transcended to contemporary vocals, then songwriting at The Interlochen Arts Academy. Her passion has been nationally recognized as a 2025 YoungArts Winner with Distinction for Voice/Singer-Songwriter. She also was selected to attend Grammy Camp as a songwriter in the New York chapter before her freshman year. With vulnerable acoustic sets, she has been heard in venues from Los Angeles, to Miami, Michigan, and New York.
Her songs hold intentional heartfelt lyrics meant to captivate the internal dialogues we wield yet don’t express openly. Exploring topics within love, loss, and self discovery has been at the foreground of her songwriting, amplifying the emotional arc with thought out melodies. She is now continuing her studies at The Berklee College of Music.
